Rock Around Siam is extending its cultural mapping beyond Bangkok. We are looking for travel designers and guides for the North, the South and the North-East (Isan) — to craft and bring to life private visits and complete journeys in the spirit that defines us: research, curation, depth of narrative and the demands of the bespoke. Not merely to visit, but to understand, contextualise and pass on.
Travel Designers
North · Kingdom of Lanna
Travel Designer — Northern Thailand
Craft private visits and journeys at the heart of the ancient kingdom of Lanna — from Chiang Mai to the valleys of Mae Hong Son — with the rigour and sense of narrative that define Rock Around Siam.
Your mission — Imagine and script private experiences, from a half-day to a complete journey; carry out research and field scouting; build a network of artisans, monasteries and communities; write narrative itineraries with a true sense of rhythm.
Your ground — The Lanna heritage (the temples of Chiang Mai, Hariphunchai, Nan, Chiang Rai), living craftsmanship (Wua Lai silverwork, Bo Sang umbrellas, lacquer, weaving) and the highlands — mountain peoples, tea and coffee plantations, Northern cuisine, the Yi Peng lantern festival.
The profile — An intimate knowledge of Lanna culture and history, a taste for research and curation, a local network (or the ability to build one), a sense of the high end. Fluent Thai; English and/or French.
Conditions — Based in the North (Chiang Mai preferred), working closely with the Bangkok team. Employment, assignment or freelance depending on the profile.
South · Two seas, blended cultures
Travel Designer — Southern Thailand
Reveal the South in all its depth — from Peranakan and Sino-Portuguese heritage to the worlds of Srivijaya and the Andaman Sea — far from the postcards.
Your mission — Design private experiences that tell the cultural mosaic of the South, between gulf and Andaman; research, scouting and network (old towns, coastal communities, artisans, houses of character); narrative itineraries with a true sense of rhythm.
Your ground — Blended heritages (Phuket old town and Sino-Portuguese architecture, Baba-Nyonya culture, Songkhla), ancient roots (Nakhon Si Thammarat and the kingdom of Srivijaya) and the worlds of the sea — the Moken sea nomads, the South's fiery cuisine, Nang Talung shadow theatre — with a sensitivity to the Malay-Muslim deep South.
The profile — Knowledge of Peranakan / Sino-Portuguese heritage and Southern culture, intercultural sensitivity, a coastal and island network, exacting standards and curation. Fluent Thai; English and/or French.
Conditions — Based in the South (Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat or Songkhla), working closely with the Bangkok team. Employment, assignment or freelance depending on the profile.
North-East · Isan, Khmer & Mekong
Travel Designer — North-East Thailand (Isan)
Deepen the Isan that Rock Around Siam already explores — Khmer heritage, the Mekong, silk and Lao-Isan culture — and make it a ground for exceptional experiences.
Your mission — Extend the work already under way in Isan (the Rock Around Isan road trip, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom); design private visits and journeys; research, scouting, a local network; narrative itineraries with a true sense of rhythm.
Your ground — The Khmer heritage (Phimai, Phanom Rung, the prasat of the Khorat plateau), deep roots (Ban Chiang, UNESCO; the silk of Khon Kaen and Chonnabot) and the Mekong — morlam and the khaen, festivals (Bun Bang Fai, Phi Ta Khon, the Naga fireballs), the red-lotus sea of Kumphawapi, Isan cuisine.
The profile — Knowledge of Khmer heritage and Lao-Isan culture, of the Mekong, a taste for research, a local network, a sense of narrative. Fluent Thai (Isan a plus); English and/or French.
Conditions — Based in Isan (Udon Thani, Khon Kaen or Nakhon Phanom), working closely with the Bangkok team. Employment, assignment or freelance depending on the profile.

North · Kingdom of Lanna
Cultural guide — Northern Thailand
Accompany travellers through the ancient kingdom of Lanna and its mountains, and pass on — with presence and warmth — the cultural and natural richness of the North. French- and/or English-speaking.
Your mission — Bring heritage to life in the field (temples, artisans, communities, great landscapes); be a teller of stories rather than a reciter; adapt the narrative to each traveller's pace and curiosity; work hand in hand with our travel designers.
Your ground — The cultural (the Lanna heritage: Chiang Mai, Hariphunchai, Nan; living craftsmanship, Northern cuisine, the Yi Peng lantern festival) and the natural: Doi Inthanon and the Northern parks, forests, terraced rice fields, tea and coffee plantations.
The profile — A guide of Thai nationality holding a TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) guide licence. A specialist of the North, with a solid grounding in history, art and nature; fluent French and/or English; presence and human warmth.
Conditions — Based in the North (Chiang Mai preferred). Assignments or freelance, in close touch with the team.
South · Two seas, blended cultures
Cultural guide — Southern Thailand
Accompany travellers between gulf and Andaman, and pass on the cultural mosaic of the South as well as the beauty of its seas, islands and forests. French- and/or English-speaking.
Your mission — Bring heritage to life in the field (old towns, coastal communities, artisans, sea landscapes); be a teller of stories rather than a reciter; adapt the narrative to each traveller's pace and curiosity; work hand in hand with our travel designers.
Your ground — The cultural (blended heritages: Phuket's Sino-Portuguese old town, Baba-Nyonya, Songkhla; Srivijaya at Nakhon Si Thammarat; Nang Talung shadow theatre) and the natural: marine parks (Similan, Ao Phang Nga), the ancient forest of Khao Sok, mangroves, limestone karsts, islands.
The profile — A guide of Thai nationality holding a TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand) guide licence. A specialist of the South, with a solid grounding in history, art and nature, intercultural sensitivity (the Malay-Muslim world); fluent French and/or English; presence and warmth.
Conditions — Based in the South (Phuket, Nakhon Si Thammarat or Songkhla). Assignments or freelance, in close touch with the team.
North-East · Isan, Khmer & Mekong
Cultural guide — North-East Thailand (Isan)
Accompany travellers along the Mekong and across the Khorat plateau, and pass on Khmer and Lao-Isan heritage as much as the nature of Isan. French- and/or English-speaking.
Your mission — Bring heritage to life in the field and extend the exploration already under way (the Rock Around Isan road trip, Udon Thani, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom); be a teller of stories rather than a reciter; work hand in hand with our travel designers.
